For businesses whose systems outgrew their documentation

Documentation
that finally gets written.

User guides, runbooks, SOPs and system documentation written by someone who has been building systems for three decades — clear, accurate, and delivered in a shape your team can keep current.

A short introduction to this service is coming soon. You can send an enquiry or request a scoping call below.

The service

Your system, explained properly.

From the policy database at the University of Canberra to the Australian Army’s main website, I have spent a career making complex systems understandable. Every documentation project is scoped and quoted individually — you see a firm quote before any work starts.

Quoted per projectFixed quote before work starts
  1. A scoping conversation about your system and the people who use it
  2. Documents written for their actual readers: staff, clients, or future you
  3. Common formats: user guides, how-tos, runbooks, SOPs, system overviews
  4. Review cycles so the facts are checked by the people who know
  5. Delivery in an editable format your team can maintain

Pricing depends on the size and state of your documentation. Nothing is payable until you have approved a firm quote.

How it works

A straightforward process.

01

Show me the system.

In a short call or walk-through, you show me what the system does, who depends on it and what documentation exists today — even if the answer is “not much”.

02

Approve a firm quote.

I map what needs writing and in what order, then quote a fixed price with a delivery date. You decide before anything is committed.

03

Receive docs people use.

I write, your people check the facts, and the finished documentation lands in an editable format your team can keep up to date.

Useful details

Before we begin

How is this priced?

Each project is quoted individually based on the size and state of your documentation. You receive a firm, fixed quote before any work starts, and nothing is payable until you approve it.

We already have documentation, but it has drifted out of date. Can you fix it?

Yes. Refreshing or rescuing existing documentation is common work. I review what is there, check what is still accurate with your team, and rewrite or restructure what is needed.

What formats do you deliver in?

Whatever your team will actually use — shared documents, a wiki, printed runbooks or plain files. Delivery is in an editable format so your staff can keep it current.

Do you need to be technical to work with you?

No. I have spent three decades building websites, media platforms and business systems, so I am comfortable reading your existing material and asking your specialists the right questions.

Start with a conversation

Tell me what needs documenting.

A rough picture is enough to start — the system, the people who use it, and what is missing. I will come back with questions and a next step.
